Full immersion for Carboflotta’s staff

ECM Europe will arrange an intensive seminar aimed at the promotion of Environmental Management System and safety regulations. ECM Europe Srl has signed an agreement with Carboflotta Group of Genoa in order to arrange an intensive 2 day EMS Seminar – to be conducted in 2010 at Carboflotta Training Center in La Spezia – for their senior officers and shore personnel from Italy, aimed at the promotion of Environmental Management System and environmental and safety US Federal and State regulations and requirements for about 60 employees.

Carboflotta (Carbofin, Carbonor, Carbofin Energia Trasporti) provides shipmanagement services for 4 LNG Vessels for LNG Shipping S.p.A. – ENI, owns 4 tankers, 1 Crude Oil and 4 LPG units and employees some 300 seafarers (mostly from Italy and Philippines) and 40 shore personnel.
“The first day Seminar is designed to explain principles and elements of an effective Environmental Management System (EMS) as per ISO 14001 standard that can help the organization achieve environmental and economic goals. The second day starts with an historical approach of Oil Pollution Act 1990 with past, present and future effects; latest updated on U.S. Environmental Federal and State Regulations requirements and practical solutions are detailed in the late session” explains Bruno Di Lascio, who in January 2007 founded ECM Europe Srl out of his 15 years experience, first in the Italian Navy (from 1991 to 1994) and then for about ten years in shipping companies as Safety & Quality Auditor, DP, QSE Coordinator and Quality Manager.
