US Maritime regulatory compliance training in Marseille, (France)

Bruno Di Lascio (ECM Europe) has conducted a US maritime regulatory compliance training at Marseille, (France) for GAZOCEAN on September 13rd, 2016.

Founded in 1957, GAZOCEAN is one of the oldest Marine Companies in the field of the transport by sea of liquefied natural gas.

The training was designed to meet the following discussion topics with GAZOCEAN’s senior officers during their annual safety seminar:

  • The role of QI
  • QI notification process
  • Incident Command System (ICS) principles
  • Type of USCG inspections
  • Vessel General Permit (VGP)
  • MARPOL Enforcement and Violation in US
  • Preventing Most frequent deficiencies
  • The P.D.C.A. method for continuous improvement

This training was a good opportunity for Masters, Chief Engineers and shore staff to better understand clear roles, responsibilities and process both for an incident notification scenario and Coast Guard inspections in US. Lessons learned from ECM vessel attendance visits where shared with officers with the use of Plan-Do-Check-Act also called Deming Cycle or continuous improvement approach.

“I thank you very much for your very fruitful presentation, from which I have very good feedback from our Officers”, said Jean-Charles DUPIRE  CEO at GAZOCEAN.
