California Biofouling Management Regulations

New reporting Form

As referenced in our Client Alert 24-2017, the California State Lands Commission (SLC) has issued the attached Marine Invasive Species Program Annual Vessel Reporting Form. This form will also be available from the SLC website.


Effective October 1, 2017, all vessels that arrive at California ports must submit the form once annually, at least 24 hours in advance of the first arrival of each calendar year. Vessels will no longer need to submit the Hull Husbandry Reporting Form, the Ballast Water Treatment Supplemental Reporting Form or the Ballast Water Treatment Annual Reporting Form.

SLC also issued the appended guidance letter regarding the updated reporting requirements for vessels arriving at California ports.
